[BPH]   Bedouin Power House Prototype

[MS] Material systems

In terms of materiality my prototype will take advantage of the natural processes of the site.
This happens in two ways, one being the process from which the salt particles, due to the flooding that occurs, will accrete onto the structure forming an exterior skin (this occurs twice every decade).
Second way is the use of a sprinkler system. The system works by releasing pumped salt water from the pond, onto the steel structure. Within this process of natural-artificial accretion, the micro organisms that already exist within the composition of the lake will eventually grow into the structure.
Due to the use of existing material the proposal is equivalent with its surrounding landscape.

[FL] Flow

The accretion process is broken into 3 stages. The first stage being flooding, the second is the artificial deploying system concluding with the deconstruction of the accreted skin for the extraction of the micro-organisms (Cyanbacteria).
The initial prototype consists of a network system that will develop depending on its population.

[ACT] Actualization

The Bedouin Powerhouse prototype will occupy in shallow and deep ponds. The prototype will produce the initial resources (Cyanobacteria, Algae) for the agri-urban network to generate and colonize. The farming mechanism will also collect algae biomass and converted to oil in order to produce bio fuels (biodiesel). Cyan bacteria will be used to produce energy by photosynthesis and run the unit’s electricity in order to be self sustained. Certain activities will take place on those locations such as Agro touristic and research as well as production of energy and fuels. The prototype will be used by Nomadic tribes, Researchers and tourists.

Activities: Production of electricity, Production of Bio fuels, Algae Bacteria Research, Agrotourism, and Filtration of water.
