[IW] Infrastructural Wetland
[MA]Material
On the west side of Lake Ichkeul, there are three pipes that are used for transferring water from Sejnane Dam to Mateur and Menzel Bourguiba. The diameter of these
pipes is about 2m, and there is a pump station on the pipes every 2000 meters. The pipelines are along
the main road that is surround the lake. The length of the pipes is about 45km. The area, which is covered by the pipes, is mainly used for farming and grazing.
[FL]flow
Basically, the cities on the two sides of the pipelines usually developed well and they are always benefit from
the pipelines. While the area between the cities always become poor and lack management, even though they are used for agriculture. So in this case, a linear infrastructural wetland landscape that is along the pipes might be necessary to take more advantages of the water transfer pipes.
[AC]actualization
Base on the research we have done before, the topography and waterflow will be useful
in this linear landscape. These series of wetland could help to purify the water and soil, also more fresh water will add into Lake Ichkeul.
