Both south and north lake of Tunis was heavily polluted by the sewage from the industrial and residential area before the restoration. Though there was a clear-up program, the industrial sewage and daily waste will still discharged to the lake illegally.

The industrial emissions of the lake relates to the location of industries and algae distribution in the lake.

According to the different distance from the factories to the lake and their different types, the ranges of industrial emissions are various.

The map demonstrates the ranges of potential industrial emissions around the South Lake of Tunis.
