[ALD]   Activated Living Drosscape

 

Aiming to create a productive and adaptive drosscape in dealing with the problematic waste and isolation issues on the South Lake area, this prototype tries to promote a practical but also a radical biological design for waste treatment and human activities in the residential area.
 

[MS] Material System

By applying algal biofilm in the system, domestic waste will be decomposed into different elements and energies. These materials will then be collected in several layers and also by soils from the tentacles. Activated carbon, Microorganism and other materials will also be used in the system for dealing with algal toxins and accelerating the reaction.



 

[TF] Tectonic Flow

Domestic waste comes from the families from the pipe line and people's drainage, and it will be gathered in the central biodigesting area. The waste slices will be stick onto the tentacles from droping down and be digested by algal biofilm, which also applies to the waste liquid. The materials collected will then be used for water, fertilizers or fuels, and some will be exchanged into the soil to enrich it.

 

 

[AC] Actualization

This new productive drosscape will be tightly connected with new residential area both physically and functionally. Located around the drosscape, the new residential areas will be the main suppliers of waste and main consumers of energies and other productions. Besides, other original informal acitivies like grazing, drinking could also take place in this area.
