[WC] Wadi Cloud
Material System
Ecologically, wadis form a comprehensive, self-organizing ecosystem. In terms of soil and water availability, wadis are suitable places for the cultivation of vegetables and fruits henceforth constituting an important part of the edible landscape. However, extensive cultivation within wadis has a detrimental effect on the environmental conditions of the wadi.
Tectonic Flow
According to rainfall water flow simulation, Wadi is the place where gaters most water, which makes is ideal for growing vegetables. Wadi Cloud comes from water flow pattern and is made up by pecies of plastic air bags. During day time, the cloud floats to creat shadow for plants and it sinks down to keep plants warm through nights.
Actualization
Wadi Cloud is a hanging greenhouse system which aims to modify , protect and use the microclimate in the Wadi in Sidi Bouzid, with consideration about plastic bag pollution found in this city. In addition, it provides a optimum environment for the cultivation of Mediteranean fruits and vegetables such as tomatoes, peppers and so on. Firstly, the clouds can collect mist in the air for irrigation within the greenhouses beneath them. Also, the water accumulated could be channelled to nearby settlements for the farming of algae.
